The Akhuwat Community Development Program is based on a participatory development model that mobilizes and organizes local (Rural and Urban) champions to lead development projects in their communities. By forming community organizations, Akhuwat works with the community to identify their needs, problems and goals and foster social cohesion with the ultimate objective of making the communities self-sufficient.

Initiated in 2014, in collaboration with Dunya Foundation, this program empowers local communities benefitting 1200 households across seven villages in rural Kasur to drive their own development. The initiatives include provision of loans, education support, technical training, introduction of new farming techniques, renewable energy solutions, sanitation, cleanliness and plantation drives, medical services and enterprise development. Notable projects include solar-powered tubewells and water purification systems.

Launched in 2022 in Mustafabad, District Kasur, AMMP focuses on holistic community upliftment. It enhances infrastructure, ensures clean water access by the installation of water filtration plant, and combats hunger through a food bank. The program also promotes sustainability through Integrated Resourse Recovery Centre and supports livelihoods through interest-free loans and vocational training. AMMP empowers individuals to become self-sufficient and drive local development.
